The Can

This can is as bright and bold as the flavor. The nearly-neon green can boasts gorgeous imagery of limes, leaves and a little peek of ginger. Ginger isn’t the juiciest-looking root, so I get why they emphasized the limes. This could be a bit misleading if you see this and expect a huge presence of lime flavor. The can is pretty transparent when it comes to what’s inside: no calories, sugar or sodium. The Nixie logo is fun and friendly!

Notes

This can had a respectable crack. The crack was quite strong and assertive. The bubble is great. Not too spicy, not too unassuming. The bubble hits right in the middle between flat and aggressive. The aroma is quite like a popular lemon lime soda. Sharp and citrus-ey, the aroma does not have an intense ginger scent. The lime and ginger flavor are evenly balanced. The lime does add a nice dimension to the ginger. This flavor is very summery to me and feels very appropriate for a hot day when you’re craving something cool and refreshing. The citrus is a bit angular without being too intense. There’s no sense of sweetness to this, but it also doesn’t have so much ginger spice to it as to be overwhelming. The lime and ginger together are quite racy!
