Episode 08: Ginger Lime Mule by Polar

Ginger Lime Mule, a seltzer flavor by Polar, sitting on a shelf next to a cookie in the shape of a conjoined twin gingerbread person. It’s FESTIVE.

The Can

Classic. Polar’s branding team runs a tight ship! We’ve got pretty gold fields of color that remind me of the copper cup that a proper Moscow Mule would be served in. The picture of the limes to indicate that there’s lime flavor inside is great. I understand why they didn’t include any imagery of ginger root. It doesn’t look like much. Polar highlights what is really important on this package and that is the bubbles. Bubbles are the main event in any Polar Premium Seltzer flavor.

Polar Premium Seltzer on a wood table. Polar seltzers are refreshingly natural and naturally calorie-free.

Notes

Polar must have a team of engineers as dedicated to quality as the brand team, because the crack on these cans is consistently respectable. This can was no different. It gave a great crack that we have all come to expect from Polar. It doesn’t give much of an aroma, but is quite crisp. This flavor is classic and sensible. The lime is subtle and doesn’t appear as a main character like it does in Lime Ginger. Would I personally put vodka in this for a bobo Moscow Mule? Probably!

This seltzer would be great to bring to a holiday party (or any party. It’s available year round.) It’s sophisticated, simple, and lovely. It does have a wintry sensibility to it, but I have no qualms about drinking this in the summer.

Overall reaction

This flavor is quite different than Lime Ginger by Nixie. In its own right, it’s pretty good!
