Episode 09: Orange Dry by Polar
Flavor
Orange Dry by Polar
The Can
This can is gorgeous. The design is different than other Polar beverages. It has an old-timey feel to it, as if you would walk into a General Store in a remote town in the old west and ask old Mr. Lawson to put it on your tab as you crack one of these babies open. This isn’t technically a seltzer, so they tell you that up front in large letters that it is a Sparkling Beverage. It’s important to note that this beverage features high fructose corn syrup, so friends with blood sugar issues may want to check the label. The can also features a cute image of an older gent who I can only assume is Boss Crowley. He asks us to “Drink polar. Stay dry.”
Notes
This is a treat beverage. The orange flavor is fresh, bold and fleshy. It’s not too sweet and tastes closer to actual orange juice than say, an orange flavored lollipop. It would be a great substitute for a mimosa at brunch. I am not sure if you should mix a sparkling white wine into it, but nothing stopping you from trying. The bubble on Orange Dry is not as spicy and aggressive as other Polar beverages, but it’s still sharp and precise. If you like Pellegrino Aranciata or Orangina, this Sparkling Beverage is the crisp and effervescent beverage you are looking for.
Overall reaction
It’s orangey. It’s pretty good!
